28/03/2007 ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT CONTINUE PRE-SEASON TESTING AT PEMBREY
TEAM NEWS: ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT WILL MOVE TO PEMBREY IN WALES TO CONTINUE THEIR INTENSIVE PRE-SEASON TESTING PROGRAMME AFTER ATTENDING THE LAST OFFICIAL BRITISH FORMULA THREE TEST AT OULTON PARK ON TUESDAY.
The team ran two cars in the four-hour official test session with Michael Devaney and Marcello Thomaz helping them get through the test programme. They tried to make the most of the sunny spring weather but were hampered by the continual red flags.
Unfortunately Marcello did not feel well after his first run and after some attention from the team physio, Mark Phillips, he tried to continue with the program. Following another run Marcello decided that he could not give 100 percent. Marcello decided not to attempt any further running. This was a brave decision on Marcello's part and one fully supported by the team.
Team Manager Jonny Ostrowski said: "The positive side of Marcello's unfortunate problem was that we managed to get good back-to-back data by having Michael alternate between the two cars for the rest of the afternoon.
"This helped to confirm car set-up and brake packages for the coming race next weekend. We stayed at Oulton Park and prepared both cars for Pembrey and moved to Wales overnight.
"Unfortunately Marcello will not recover in time so we will carry on with Michael and he will be joined by McLaren Autosport finalist Nathan Freak."
Argentine driver Esteban Guerrieri will be returning in the next few days from Argentina and Ostrowski added: "Esteban has kept in constant touch with the team during his absence and has been fully kept up to date with the progress we have made.
"We are all now looking forward to some typically dry Pembrey weather before returning to East Haddon for the final preparation for next weekend. We all wish Marcello a swift recovery."
