30/03/2007 ULTIMATE SIGN DEVANEY AFTER PROMISING FINAL TEST

TEAM NEWS: ULTIMATE MOTORSPORT HAVE SIGNED MICHAEL DEVANEY TO PARTNER ESTEBAN GUERRIERI IN THEIR DRIVER LINE-UP FOR THEIR DEBUT IN BRITISH FORMULA THREE FOLLOWING A SUCCESSFUL FINAL PRE-SEASON TEST.

Dubliner Devaney, 22, who has most recently driven for the Irish A1GP team, will be a welcome addition to Ultimate Motorsport and his partnership with Guerrieri will create an exciting blend of experience and performance.

Team owner Barry Walsh said: "We are very excited to bring Michael to the team and we are already confident from the running that we have done in Pembrey this week that he will perform very well this season.

"We have had a very busy build-up to our debut season in the British F3 International series and we feel ready for the first event next week.

"Michael has proven that he is a winning driver and his position in the A1GP team with Ireland is a prestigious confirmation of his talent.

"Esteban will be returning from some time at home in Argentina next week ready to meet his new team-mate and help the team in the build-up to the debut race at Oulton Park."

Devaney started racing at the age of 13, when he was the Irish karting rookie of the year. His career has taken him through Formula BMW and German Formula Three before he stepped into the seat at the Irish A1GP team.

He joined Nathan Freke as the team completed a satisfactory final test at Pembrey, Wales, completing an unprecedented amount of running over the two days in good weather as they worked on set-up development and reliability.

Team Manager Jonny Ostrowski said: "Both cars completed their test programmes and we have managed to make some positive steps on set-up of the car.

"The weather was surprisingly good and Nathan, although not as experienced as Michael in F3, did some solid work, moving the development of the car forward on the first day.

"On the second day we focused all our efforts on giving Michael as much running time as possible in preparation for Oulton Park next weekend. It was a good effort all round from the team."
